Did you know…
That Cameras and guns share a common history – in the early days of photography and the manufacturing of cameras, some dry plate cameras were modeled on Colt revolver mechanisms. The design of a motion picture cameras was modeled on machine guns. When William Walker and George Eastman of Kodak developed a new paper negative it was created with gun cotton. This technique was expanded upon by a French inventor who created a gelatinized gun cotton that could be cut into strips; which permitted the first modern smokeless gun powder. Source: David Campbell
