vintage photo mystery

Amazingly beautiful images, but who made them? I hope we will find out. Read the full story with the link to BBC below.

A US photographer has launched an internet hunt to find two mysterious women pictured on an old roll of film she discovered in a second-hand shop.

Meagan Abell was sifting through a box of vintage photographs in Richmond, Virginia when she found four sets of “transparency slides”.

She took them home to scan them and was “shocked” at the level of detail.

“I thought ‘holy wow they are beautiful’. I’d love to find the women or the photographer who took them.”

The impact of photography.

I saw this on the BBC News App and thought you should see it:
Ten steps to improve your photography
Lecturer Grant Scott offers advice on how to use your interests to produce better pictures.

” Every decision you make in your life from what you wear, what you eat, how you vote, how you decorate your home, where you visit, what you listen to, what you watch and what you believe are influenced by professional photography and professional photographers. They don’t just shoot weddings.”

Another day at the races

Today I got another opportunity to photograph more horse racing. I had a great time! This time at Täby Galopp just outside Stockholm. It will be interesting to see how I can develope this series.

Nothing much

It is summer in Sweden, and it is NOT “nothing much”. Flowers in the fields sending their delightful aromas. Just go out and inhale. Enjoy the colors. After a cold and dark winter this is important for us. The light, the sun and the warmth. Fill up with energy before next autumn and winter.

Have a great summer everybody! 😊🌺🌻🌿

Well, is it?

To me there is no question, but, not all photographs are art. So what is and what isn´t? It is up to you, and me of course. These are 2 articles from The Guardian about the subject. What would you be prepared to pay for that you couldn´t do yourself?

The gun was loaded’: photographers on the shots that changed their lives

“Some photos change the photographers life”. Not only the viewers.

ESB through binucular at WTC

These 3 images changed my life years later with 9/11, when WTC was a target for a terror attack. These 2 images above were taken from the observation deck at World Trade Center. The one closest through the binoculars there. All with a small 35 mm Minox GT.

Different Perspective

Different Perspective.

I would like to reblog this from Tommy Too since the thought is very interesting. We see different things looking at the same thing. All according to who we are and what our interests are.

I found these shapes, forms, patterns in Horten, Norway recently. Did other people also see the same things as I did?

Inspiration, transpiration

1BEarly in photography school my teacher got very upset over one of my friends that hadn´t done his homework. He said he didn´t have the inspiration. My teacher, Calldick Lundblad, said “how are you going to get food on the table and be paying the rent if you will always sit around waiting for inspiration”? Good question!

4AIn the blogging world there are so many people sharing ideas and inspiration to get a better life. I think that is marvellous. The world really has a chance to be a better place with all the improvement. But it all comes down to us. We have to have a will, inspiration and we have to work to get there, to do it. It all start with yourself. You are in the center of your own life and it is you who is in charge. Not so easy all the time, really. Don´t think I am not aware of that.

11BWhat my photography teacher told me, and I live by it still, is to get into it. To start. Along the way you will build the inspiration, together with the transpiration. For every step that is getting you closer to the goal it feels better and better. The inspiration builds up. It is hard work but rewarding. Perhaps you can inspire others. The best of it all.

5BYour beliefs can move mountains. War is over if you want.
