And the winner is…

Dear friends. I am happy to announce that I have just returned from Yantai in China and the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards. In the category Best Cookbook Photography I received a worldwide first price. I am very happy and honored. In photography and music, among many other subjects, it is very difficult, if possible, to find winners. Because of that I am especially honored and thankful for the best award that I have ever received. .

The images are from the book “Smörstekt, fortsättningen. Med LCHF-kost för hjärtat”.

Writer Gun-Marie Nachtnebel and graphic design Anna Gunneström.

The Met Celebrates Irving Penn, Revolutionary Photographer

They do, and once again I wish I had all the time in the world just going around enjoying exhibitions. Together with Avedon and Albert Watson he is one of my absolute favorite photographers. Over the years I have got so much inspiration from his work. The frozen fruits, cigarette butts, flowers, the backdrops and SO MUCH more. Recently we have been fortunate here in Stockholm to see his work at Åmells. What more could a photographer my age ask for? 😊  Pelle

The impact of photography.

I saw this on the BBC News App and thought you should see it:
Ten steps to improve your photography
Lecturer Grant Scott offers advice on how to use your interests to produce better pictures.

” Every decision you make in your life from what you wear, what you eat, how you vote, how you decorate your home, where you visit, what you listen to, what you watch and what you believe are influenced by professional photography and professional photographers. They don’t just shoot weddings.”

Other calendar themes

This is another theme used for our calendars. Spoons.

IMG_1747_2013Themes are most often to be found under my nose, like in the kitchen drawer.

IMG_1761_2013Complicated, no it doesn´t have to be.

IMG_1729_2013I remember the printers comment, “but it is only spoons”. YES! I said, that is just the point!

IMG_0095Sometimes I search in shops for something useful. This time I found lavendar and these strawberries. I know it is right when I see it.

Worlds best food photography 2015

http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-32336756

This is another interesting article I found on BBC.com about photography. This time food photography. All according to the pinkladyfoodphotographyoftheyear award.  Lots of smoke. The winning photos are not just food, but also enviroment, cocking etc. Food photography is more than pans, pots and plates. Great choice I think.

Time for blogging

New introduction written in march 2026.

Looking back on my oldest blogs I came upon this, my very first. Created years ago in 2014.  I have decided to republish this text since Fredrik Malmstedt is still a very good friend and recently he overtook my old studio. He is creating a kitchen studio together with his cousin Magnus. A place for education, tasting and festivities. It is called Malmstedt Matstudio. I realized how up to date this old blog still is.

I have not been blogging every week or month, but I realize that I have published a lot of thoughts and images during the years. I am still working with the culinary teams and are having a really good time with my photography. Professional and private.

Here is my very first blog.  Again. Now translated into English.

Hi!

After a lot of thinking I have decided to start blogging. I am a professional photographer and in business since many years. Today perhaps one of a very few with a studio of my own. I photograph a lot of pictures for cookbooks, advertising and editorial . Some of my clients are The Swedish Culinary teams. Seniors and juniors. Swedish National Pastry Team. I studied photography in Solna for Calldick Lundblad. After photography school I attended Beckmans, Art, graphics and advertising school.

I have attended various educations in Sweden and abroad. My first contact with Photoshop was through Image Bank in New York.  When SFF, Swedish Photographers Association,  started authorizing photographers in digital publishing, in 2002, I was there.

Photography is today totally different from when i started out, but it is still so fun and exciting. My blog will be about photography, of course, but not much tips about technique. More about images and other things concerning a professional photographers every day. I will be looking forward, but sometimes also in the other direction. You should always look both ways, I think.

Welcome!
