No Promises!
When I go to a horse race to photograph I make no promises. Not to me or anyone else. No promises that my images should be sharp, show what horse or jockey, or anything. I go there with total freedom for creating and I donยดtย listen to nobody. Surprise me! That is all that I say to myself. Because of that I donยดt really know until afterwards in the studio what I brought back. Is it useful and did I surprise myself. Do I like it? At the bottom I have included two of my friends and colleagues. Wolfram and Elina.See you on Sunday again.
Only two images are cropped…
This is a small selection from yesterdays 979 exposures. The one at the top is my favorite.

The birds are singing again
Yes they are. And the sun was shining. The horses were racing and I felt rusty. Here is however today’s selection. That said, I think the spring is here. Finally. As always I get my surprises back in the studio.

Back on the track
After a long absence from the race track, I was back yesterday at Bro Park to photograph horse racing again. This is not Abu Dhabi or some other warm place, this is Sweden in the middle of our winter. Degrees below zero and freezing cold for the jockeys. Imagine sitting on a horse in full speed with as light gear and clothes as possible. What the horses think I donยดt know. Here is my collection of images from yesterdays competitions.

More sport photos
This time from BBC, and a look into the history of amazing sport photos.
About the top image:
โBob Martinโs photograph is so beautifully composed, so structured, that it is only afterward the details come into focus,โ writes Buckland. โThis is the Paralympics. The rules of swimming are almost identical to the regular Olympics but no prostheses are permitted. Torres has left his legs behind.โ

Rio 2016: 25 of the most incredible Olympic photos so far
I just found these images in the Washington Post.
Sport is always a possibility for great shots. Look at these and you understand. The very first image is touring the world right now.
It would be great to have the opportunity once to cover an event this size. Color, speed, expression. It has everything. Happiness and sorrow, not to forget. And The Olympics is not over yet…

It can be…
Photography that is, can be funny, colorful, tragic, truthful, lying, graphic, informative, personal and so much more. Good and/or bad. Whatever that is is up to the viewer. This is a great selection.

Grand opening at Bro Park
Last Sunday was the long awaited grand opening of Bro Park. The new race horse track in the Stockholm area. The weather was fine and so the spectators. Many dressed up for the occasion and the competition for the best dress, and hat of course. All as it should be on a day like this in this sport. After going through about 32 GB of images I have come up with this small selection. As always I am walking around in my own little world of details, color and speed. Just as the jockeys I am now looking forward to learning the new track. Different corners and where and when the light is best here, and there.
Note: The happiest winner was an American, Chantal, with her arms up in the sky. The Swedes just won without visual signs. But with a smile afterwards, of course.
