I just found these images in the Washington Post.
Sport is always a possibility for great shots. Look at these and you understand. The very first image is touring the world right now.
It would be great to have the opportunity once to cover an event this size. Color, speed, expression. It has everything. Happiness and sorrow, not to forget. And The Olympics is not over yet…

Years ago I saw one of his exhibitions in Milan. Great images, also in size, and a great show! Now I certainly like to go to Rotterdam.

“He has such strong themes. You can immediately say, ‘That’s a Lindbergh image’ because of the timelessness of the portraits, without make-up, without hair. They never date.”
Lindbergh does what he does. And as long as you don’t try to retouch what he does, he is happy.
Magazines have to sign a contract agreeing not to do any retouching, otherwise, he says, it happens. “The cosmetic companies have everyone brainwashed. I don’t retouch anything. ‘Oh, but she looks tired!’ they say. So what if she looks tired? Tired and beautiful.”

Welcome to Jägersro the 16th of July. Jägersro is the race track for horse racing in Malmö. I am especially happy for this since my interest for the sport started just here one year ago. I have made a selection from my horse racing images and they will be exhibited on prints in size 70×100 cm..

Just a few pictures from after the rain. We, and the nature, needed the rain. The thunder came very close. It is always so peaceful after a rain ,so I went out for a short walk. And I brought my camera along.

Creating a photochrome involved taking detailed notes on the colours present in the photographed scene, and then hand-colouring the negative
Remember that photographers had to use b/w or color film years ago. Or just b/w if it was many years ago. Today it is easier with everything built into a camera.
The image on the negative meant that different amounts of light fell on different areas of the coating, which then hardened according to the amount of light to which it had been exposed
Finally: Now I have seen the question, again. Is photography art? In my opinion YES it could be, but not every photograph is. Far from!

I just read that the photographer Fan Ho has passed away at the age of 85. I did n´t know about him but I like to share what I just learned with you. His work is fantastic! It is not difficult to understand that he was called the Bresson of the East. I first learned about him in an article in http://www.dpreview.com. The top link. The second link is to his homepage. Really colorful w/w images. It really shows that good photography has no age. It is timeless.
Please excuse my little joke in the headline, but I had never heard of him before.

Last Sunday was the long awaited grand opening of Bro Park. The new race horse track in the Stockholm area. The weather was fine and so the spectators. Many dressed up for the occasion and the competition for the best dress, and hat of course. All as it should be on a day like this in this sport. After going through about 32 GB of images I have come up with this small selection. As always I am walking around in my own little world of details, color and speed. Just as the jockeys I am now looking forward to learning the new track. Different corners and where and when the light is best here, and there.
Note: The happiest winner was an American, Chantal, with her arms up in the sky. The Swedes just won without visual signs. But with a smile afterwards, of course.

Yesterday was national holiday in Sweden and the annual horse race at Gärdet. A huge recreation field here in Stockholm. The track that is rebuilt every year at this place is not flat as most other tracks. I think that the jockeys like it. The weather was sunny and there was a huge audience that were allowed in for free. Here is my selection from my 1148 exposures.

It came and it went. Like all other days. The final day at Täby Galopp in Stockholm. Sun, clouds and artificial lights gave different looks to the races, and the images. Together with two colleagues I produced an exhibition for the event. It was well received and I am very happy for that. It gave me a possibility to talk to the viewers. Some did not see the point in unfocused, blurred images at all. So I told them that I do. To me it is not that important to recognize jockeys, horses or owners. I am looking for speed, power and color. So also yesterday. Here is the result. A few more images to add to the series from Täby. Next race is another track, different light and angles. Exciting and a new challenge.
I accept that challenge!
